New Town: At least 15 shops gutted in fire, no causalities reported

In yet another unfortunate fire incident, at least 15 shops were gutted in New Town. According to reports, as many as 15 shops that were located in front of Shapoorji Mukhsrishti residence, burn down in the devastating fire. As per the locals, the fire broke out in the wee hours of Saturday at around 3:00 am.

At first, the eyewitnesses saw the fire in two of the 15 shops that were affected it by the incident. Immediately the fire brigade was contacted but by the time the fire tenders arrived at the spot the fire had spread quickly and engulfed all the nearby shops within no time. People said that many shops had gas cylinders inside them which is why the fire spread rapidly. Many gas cylinders burst as well.

Four fire tenders arrived at the spot and began the operation to control the roaring flames. As per the fire officials, their preliminary assumption is that a high-tension wire was crossing over the shops, and due to a tear in the wire, the fire started.

Technocity police also arrived at the spot. Fortunately, nobody was present inside the affected shops and no loss of life or injuries have been reported gate. However, the loss of property is assumed to be huge and will be ascertained afterward.
